INFORMATION FOR QUEENSLANDERS ATTENDING
THE 33rd NATIONAL ANGLING CHAMPIONSHIPS & CONVENTION
Plea for Carnival Workers
For this to be a successful Carnival we need lots of willing workers.
We need you to make a commitment to help us at weigh-ins and especially at the casting.
For your help you will receive a “Worker’s Shirt” that, after the Carnival, will make an excellent all purpose fishing shirt.
If you can help us please contact us ASAP on 3281 3514 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
There are some Rules for Workers
* Always turn up on time wearing your worker’s shirt
* No alcohol is allowed in the Weigh-in Area
Queensland Uniform for the Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony is important to the Australian Anglers Association and needs to be conducted with dignity. Your attendance, in State Uniform, is required as the Association will be on display and could be judged by your appearance.
The uniform for all participants, competitors and social, will be the maroon and gold Qld shirt (first sponsored by John Longhurst) or its replacement with dark coloured jeans or long pants. Those who have not attended National Championships previously will be able to purchase one at the reduced price of $20.00 at the social get together on Tuesday, 6th August. (See below).
All participants, competitors and social, will be issued with a maroon and gold Qld cap and you will be required to wear the cap and shirt to take part in the march past. Let’s hope it’s a fine, sunny day.
Queensland Team Meetings
If the Queensland Team is to be successfully at this Carnival then it must fish as a TEAM, individual success will follow.
When our State Captain, Geoff Richards, calls a team meeting it is important that everyone in the various teams attend and offer information and suggestions on how to achieve the best results.
If everyone does this, then Queensland will have an excellent chance of regaining the “City of Warrnambool Trophy” for the Champion State.

Beautiful Beautiful Queensland
At Carnivals we love to sing when a Queenslander wins so please learn the words to “Beautiful Beautiful Queensland” as I’m sure we will be singing it a few times.
Beautiful, beautiful Queensland
Up where the wild flowers grow;
We’re proud of our beautiful climate
Where we never see ice or snow.
You can live on the plains or the mountains
Or down where the sea breezes blow,
But you’re still in beautiful Queensland -
The most wonderful State that I know.
You can travel on beautiful highways
Over rivers and valleys and farms.
You can sail above on the skyways
And the beauty below you will charm.
White cotton, green forests, blue rivers,
Sugar cane fields and fruit trees that bear.
You can look the world over and then you can say
that Queensland has beauty to spare.
